I'm Jumping Jacks!

Today I was going to do some jumping jacks and I was having a hard time starting. So my husband walked up behind me and said, "let's do it, I will do them with you. How many are you doing 15?" I was like, "uh, yea, okay, 15" So he started counting the jumps, and I was happy that we were going to reach 15 real soon, and then he started counting a second set of numbers and I was like, "oh my gosh, are you serious?" My legs buckled by the time he got to seven and my stomach made it's way from out of my pants and started flapping everwhere. That is what I dreaded! It was like a balloon under pressure. Everything just went pop by the time I made it to 15 again. On the flip side, I just did 30 whole jumping jacks! I am definitely going to push for another 30 tomorrow. I will let you know how it works out!

As for my whole day.....

I used my stregnth bands and did a few stretches to arch my back and work on my bat wings (those things that swing under your arms. As for what I ate today, I had a nice glass of orange juice to start, a two bite mini cupcake, and some raspberry lemonade to wash it down. I also had about 6 Raisinettes (chocolate covered raisins) then for dinner which was around 3pm, I made some steamed green beans, some mash potatoes and a lean thin cut sirloin steak with onions and green peppers. I had skipped lunch all together because it is Sunday, and I got up late so my day was already half gone. For snack, I made me a glass of White Hot Chocolate with whip cream and, right around 9pm I ended my day with a cup of Hot Tea w/French Vanilla cream. The whole day was wacky considering that it was a very cold day. Overall, it was a good day.

Thanks Tony Little For The Gazelle

I forgot to add this post a long time ago, forgive me. One of my biggest challenges was trying to do jumping jacks while weighing 300 and something pounds. When I started jumping jacks I could barely do two of them. Well as of this post January 7, 2011- I can do 15 jumping jacks non-stop. My goal is to do 300 hundred jumping jacks. There is definitely magic in the number 3. As you progress in your stregnth training, you will see what I am talking about. My other favorite apparatus to work with is- Tony Little's Gazelle. OMG!!! Almost any weight size can get on this machine. I have had my Gazelle since 1998 and I love it, my family love it, and my husband's knees love it! It was a cool product at first. Then it became a over-priced clothes hanger, along with my Total Gym (Chuck Norris) which became our overly priced ironing-board. I never knew what the power of both of these machines could really do. Sadly, I no longer own my Total Gym, but it is on my wishlist. Third but not least, you have to get some Yoga moves in. I try to incorporate Yoga time at least four to five times a week.  Trust me, when you learn how to Yoga while on the floor, you will appreciate the moves in bed.... I never knew my legs could bend back that far (lol).

My Morning Craving

This morning I woke up with a craving for Spinach Dip. I still do not know what my dream was about, but before I get started I will give you the recipe- Here is the recipe:

1 small package of frozen spinach (the block size)
1 tub (16oz) of french onion dip (low fat)
1 small package of Hidden Valley Ranch (powder)
1 1/2 cups of low-fat shredded cheddar cheese

Thaw out the frozen spinach and place in a medium mixing bowl with all the above ingredients and mix until well blended. Refrigerate until ready to eat.

Okay, back to my thoughts. This morning I woke up with a craving for Spinach Dip. It was like an epiphany to me. All I could think was, "is it only just for parties? Why does it have to be an appetizer at a restaurant?" Well, I told myself, "today it is going to be my mid-afternoon lunch" So I prepared myself a bowl of Cheerios and grabbed me a cup of my favorite O.J. to start my day.

By the way, one of my favorite drinks in the morning is Simply Best Orange Juice w/ Pulp. For some reason, my mind and body believes I am eating an orange for breakfast. They have a pineapple and orange combination that sends my body into a tizzy. So every morning I make sure that I have a small glass, about 4oz of my favorite orange juice. On special days, I add some ginger-ale to my orange juice and make me a mock Mimosa. One word, "ummmmmmm"

My Mom Was Shocked!

My Mom called me the other day, and we had a long discussion about my cereal choices. I tried to explain to my Mom, that I love my Lucky Charms. Who by the way is the makers of ta dah.... Cheerios, my arch nemesis! (Okay short story about my arch nemesis. One time when I was younger, I say about 12 or 13, my Mom bought some Cheerios home. Well, I wanted Captain Crunch for breakfast. I hated Cheerios with a passion. They were bland, they didn't have any sugar, and surely no prizes inside. It was the ultimate adult cereal next to raisin bran. Well, I took it upon myself to add sugar to my Cheerios and my Mom was so mad at me, that she dumped it, and made a new bowl without sugar. I just sat there looking at the Cheerios. I was really mad, not only did they keep spelling OOOOO's but there was no other letter in that bowl. Normally, she wouldn't of dumped my cereal, but it was because I was being rebellious and thought she wouldn't do anything about it. I guess you can say, I ruined her start of the day, so she ruined mine. So this is why I hate Cheerios.)

Well, Mom, guess what? I took a picture of Cheerios Strawberry Yogurt Cereal and Lucky Charms, and did a side by side comparison. Not much of a difference when it come to being health conscience. Since General Mills make great cereal, these two made it on my list. I also forgive the makers of Cheerios, because I actually like the Strawberry Yogurt flavored Cheerios. They taste like my childhood past-time favorite Frankenberry. I miss those guys, Frankenberry, Booberry, and Count Chocola. One thing for sure I will never stop chasing the rainbow. I am a Lucky Charm! As for the comparison Mom, see for yourself --->

I Love How I Feel

Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year! 2011 is upon us. Well, one thing I can say I did different is that I didn't make a new year's resolution to lose weight. I actually made a lifelong resolution and I didn't have to lie to myself, or worse, buy a gym membership to the YMCA. Well, yesterday I went to Walmart and bought a home scale. Of course I had been totally against putting one in my bathroom, but paying my doctor almost $200 a visit for follow-ups is getting pretty pricey. Oh by the way, my weigh-ins are going to be dial reads and digital reads. You will be able to tell the difference by the point something (264.3) behind the actual weight. If it's digital, I did it at my doctor's, if it's whole (264), I did it at home. I just wanted to clear that little thing up.

I know that I am losing weight, not only by my clothes, but because people who see me everyday keep telling me that I am. Also, I am wearing 1x in clothes. 1x represents a lot of weight sizes, for me I guess it is a 18/20. Well, whatever the hell it is, it is not a 4x, 3x, or 2x. I still prefer to wear 2x in shirts, due to the (twins) and I also bought some new bras (size 42DD) too. Don't get me wrong, I could of eliminated one of the D's, but, I want to convince my husband they didn't shrink, okay, I wanted to convince myself they didn't skrink...lol.

Oh by the way, I weighed in today at 264. At first I thought, what happened? Then I said, OMG, how great!!! I went through Thanksgiving and Christmas making mass buffets and desserts and didn't gain any weight. Go Kora, go Kora, go, go, go, Kora! Yep, I was able to eat and be merry! Have a wonderful everyday (like my BFF Scooter told me) and live life to the fullest!
