My Weigh In

Hi Everyone,

Well as of today my new weigh in is 264.3lbs. Yes, I have managed to lose weight and it feel great! My BMI is 45.4 which is a plus, considering that it is going down and not up. With the holidays upon us, I managed to eat what I want, but in a moderate amount. I don't eat until I am full, and I have incorporated my Tony Little Gazelle into my daily routine. There are sometimes I just don't feel like getting on there for 30 minutes, so I get on it for 5 minutes. At least I am still doing something. I don't completely not workout, I run errands that day and park the suv at the furthest end of the parking lot. Yay Me! I hope that you are staying with your plans as well. I just say, take it one day at a time......

The Best Thing That Ever Happened!

Hi Everyone,

Today I went to the Chiropractor and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I haven't felt this good in years. When I got there I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. They were very compassionate about the pain I was having. When I finished with all the ailments I was put into a massaging chair immediately. The office is located on Lake Norman so naturally the massage chairs were in position to view the lake. I was trying not to go to sleep, while waiting to get x-rays and exams of my back.
Once my x-rays came back, I was led into a room with a doctor's chair. The Doctor explained to me what he was going to do and I was both nervous and anxious to get going. For the most part, I was okay until I heard my neck snap in 24 places. That was just one side, but then he did the other side, OMG!!! another snap in 24 places at least that is what it sounded like to me. I knew I was in pain, but to hear every bone in my body from the neck down sounding like bubble wrap out of a box. I was almost flabbergasted to hear such noises.
Overall, it was a great experience much needed! When I got home, I felt so fresh I wanted to take an afternoon nap. I slept so good I didn't wake up until 7pm this evening. Talk about a nap worth needing!! If you ever get a chance, make sure you get adjusted, I actually think I grew an inch. Until next time..... Thanks for journeying with me!

My Weigh In

Hi Everybody!,

I just wanted to update my status on my weight loss. I am feeling pains in places I never knew existed. I also want to let you know that I am wearing shoes by Skechers called Shape Ups. The best thing that could ever happen to me. They make me stand straight and it has lifted a lot of pain off my lower back. The shoes are not miracle workers but they have me so hyped up to go walking now. It feel like I am standing on 5 tension floor mats. The only draw back is that if you don't pay attention to yourself you will find yourself rocking in place due to the heel of the shoe. I think it is cool. Okay, now my weigh in-- 288lbs! Yea me! I am officially out of the 90's! I am so proud of myself. Even when I went to Dr. Abaqueta he said to me "wow" I cannot believe you lost 10 pounds in one month, whatever it is you are doing, keep it up! That was a crowning moment. One thing I tried was I used Raisnets as my breakfast and M and M Peanuts for lunch. Each time I ate about 8 peices. This was to curve my craving for chocolate. Plus if you add oatmeal to it, technically it is a granola bar. No I am not justfying it, but technically, it is a granola bar.

I'm making the switch

Today I used Morning Star Crumbles for my taco salad. I am making the switch from ground beef to vegetarian meat. When I saw the 200 calorie difference in 1 pound of meat it literally floored me. Another simple change to my new health. I actually like the taste and it was very good.

Rinsing the fat away

Here is one technique that I use alot, it is where I rinse my hamburger meat when I am done frying. You will be amazed how much fat is still left on the meat after it has browned. See for yourself.

My new weigh in

Okay I was so not ready for the weigh in today. My mother-in-law Palmer and my sister-in-law Debra, (I Love Ya'll) have called me to inform me that I didn't do my weigh in on the 21st. So here it is, 294. That is the numbers. I am proud to say that I didn't feel anything come off, but I cleaned out my closet and can wear some of the clothes I forgot all about. Go me! I have to see Dr. Abaqueta on January 14th about my weight issues. From our last visit in December, we calculated that I was consuming about 3000 calories a day. I told him that I don't have energy to eat 3000 calories a day, I probably eat once or twice a day. So I am really trying to eat more meals with less calories. I think that I am going to have to buy everything in portion control. I will be doing more research on calorie portions and how to measure them.

As far as excercising, it is hard. Those jumping jacks hurt my back and my knees. I feel like a butterfly effect waving my arms and jumping. With all of the strength it take me to move one arm, the other one acts as if it doesn't want to move. I thought if I dreamed about excercising my mind would communicate with my body and send a signal to the fat that I was running or something. I wake up tired and huffing and puffing..hey can I patent that? lol...... Dream Weight Loss System.....hmmmm.
Oh by the way, Happy New Year. Yes, it is a new year, and I read what I wrote a year ago. A whole year has passed and I figured out that being seditary has slowed my progress. So I have to start doing more besides sitting in the house all day. I have no excuses, and I need to move around more. North Carolina do not enforce side walks and curbs, if they did, more people could walk places. My neighborhood have a sidewalk on one side of the street, and everybody on my street have a dog. I have a fear of dogs, it's what they do when their owners are not around. I also have a fear of UFO's, I might be walking one day, and end up in one, I do live in the suburbs/country....lol. My new word is ACTION. I can focus on it.
